Planting Island BBQ 2008

Planting Island StagingWhat a great turnout we had for this beautiful summer ride! Thirty-five bikes and about 40 folks showed up for this annual event. What a day we had! Sunny skies, temperatures in the 80s, it doesn't get much better.

Dick took us, at a nice leisurely pace, down our favorite Route 105. It was such a nice relaxing ride, on a beautiful day. Going on those rolling roads past all those farms pastures and woodlands was just the best.

We rumbled noisily onto little Planting Island, and drew more than one concerned look from the neighbors as we lined up outside Dick's dad's house. Dick's daughter and her friend started cooking up the burgers and dogs as soon as we arrived, and it wasn't long before we were chowing down.

Planting Island ArrivalAfter lunch, we spent some nice time sitting in the shade, visiting with old friends and making new ones. Then it was time to hit the road again. Dick brought us back to Bridgewater a different route, and it too was very nice. We pulled into the lot at Roche Bros. right on schedule! Thanks to Dick for leading such a large number of bikes on such a nice and relaxing ride. Thanks for our sweeps for doing a great job in the back. And thanks to Dick's family for their hospitality and care.
